The Greater Manchester Youth Combined Authority (GMYCA) meet every month discussing key topics that effect young people such as climate change and the environment, COVID recovery, health and well being (physical and mental), and Equity, Equality and Inclusion. The GMYCA gives young people the opportunity to have their voices heard and influence GMCA policy and decision making. It also allows GM youth to share their opinions and ideas with the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, on key issues and provide solutions. Just like a few months ago when Mayor Andy Burnham visited the GMYCA meeting taking questions from young people ranging on topics from the environment all the way to LGBTQ+ equality and inclusivity. The GMYCA also played a key role in getting the Our Pass implemented and funding it to allow young people to travel on public transport furthering the opportunities they may have missed out upon.
